More than NZ$50k awarded to worker wrongfully let go
More than $50,000 has been awarded to a Queenstown man for unfair dismissal after he was chased out of the building by a company director. Nigel Ede was wrongfully let go by insulation firm MAXRaft after a disagreement in a staff meeting turned ugly, David Beck of the New Zealand Employment Relations Authority found. Company director and general manager Henry Edney addressed staff at the firm office in Glenda Dr, Queenstown, on March 13 last year, where Ede aired his views on workload, software updates and outsourcing.

CAA ORDERED TO PAY DISMISSED AIRPORT SECURITY OFFICER $20K OVER PHOTO INCIDENT WITH COLLEAGUE'S BREASTS
Wrongfully dismissed officer awarded more than NZ$20k
A wrongfully dismissed aviation security officer has been awarded more than $20,000 after a lengthy employment dispute stemming from a female colleague taking a nude photo on his iPad. Security service Avsec which is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), employed Richard Nolan at Queenstown Airport from May 2016 until his dismissal in March because of "a severe and irresolvable incompatibility" between him and a female colleague.
